BROADWAY’S SMASH HIT, RENT!

Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, Rent tells the story of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Tragically, the show's creator, Jonathan Larson, died the night before the off- Broadway premiere. The show went on to garner critical acclaim as the ninth longest running show in Broadway history and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Broadway actor Alan Mingo, Jr. (AEA) joins this cast of Rent reprising the role of “Tom Collins” that he performed on Broadway. Alan has also been seen in Broadway’s The Little Mermaid as “Sebastian” and on the National Tours of Shrek the Musical (Donkey), Hairspray (Seaweed J. Stubbs) and Lion King (Simba). In addition, Adam Theodore Barry (AEA) will be returning to PCRT as “Angel” after receiving rave reviews for his performance as “Gaston” in last fall’s Beauty and the Beast. A very talented group of professional and regional actors complete this ensemble cast.

Don't miss award-winning director Jasen Jeffrey's fresh vision on this contemporary piece of musical theatre.

Funny, intelligent, honest and sentimental, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence plus a touch of old world elegance. This perfect show, based on the play Parfumerie, by Miklos Laszlo, is so resplendent, charming and well-constructed that New York Magazine recently deemed it one of the best musicals ever written. The musical's creative team of Bock and Harnick, who were on a hot streak, would be heard from again in 1964 when they premiered Fiddler on the Roof.

Lois Grandi, back again after numerous accolades for her direction and choreography in PCRT's Chicago, will wisk you away in this humorous and sentimental story of bickering coworkers Georg and Amalia who encounter each other unwittingly as anonymous pen pals and fall in love. If you recognize the plot, you may have seen one of the many film adaptations such as Nora Ephron'sYou've Got Mail. Pair this evening with a romantic dinner on Main Street and it is sure to be an evening to sing about!

This "tale as old as time", based on the 1991 Disney film, is the perfect opportunity to bring the whole family for a great evening of entertainment.

After mistreating a beggar woman, a conceited prince is turned into a fearsome beast and must earn the love of another to break the spell. In a nearby village Belle, a dreamer, longs for a more exciting life. When her eccentric father is imprisoned by the Beast, she sacrifices her freedom so he may go free. Although initially outraged by his demands, Belle's feelings for the Beast grow as his inner goodness emerges. When an egotistical and self-centered former suitor of Belle's stabs the Beast, the heartbroken Belle expresses her feelings to her dying love, breaking the spell and restoring the Beast to a handsome prince.
